Peggy Shannon
Wandering storyteller
documenting the world with camera and pen
Peggy Shannon has spent the past four years researching and photographing notable and lesser-known churches in Paris. During thousands of hours on the ground in the City of Light, she has interviewed and developed close relationships with historians, city administrators, clergy, academics, and tour guides. These relationships have given her exceptional access to little-known historical details and fascinating behind-the-scenes information that inform the texts accompanying her photographs.
Shannon holds a B.A. degree in Psychology and Religion from the College of Santa Fe and studied Arts Administration in Indiana University’s master’s program. She enjoyed early success as a photographer, with exhibitions in galleries and cultural centers across the US, before embarking on a career in marketing.
As a long-time marketing executive and owner of a public relations firm, Shannon built a successful career creating and implementing effective campaigns for a wide range of creative-focused clients. She expanded her business expertise when she founded an award-winning bakery, which won two sofiTM Awards, the Oscars® of the specialty food industry, for two unique pastries she developed.
Shannon created marketing and PR campaigns that landed her company and products in national publications including the “Best Of” list in O, The Oprah Magazine, People, Wall Street Journal, Real Simple, InStyle and Martha Stewart Living Weddings. She and her work have been featured on Kathie Lee & Hoda on the Today show, in addition to multiple local TV and radio programs.
Shannon was born in San Bernardino, California. She divides her time between Paris, France, Cincinnati, Ohio and Nova Scotia’s South Shore.
